How does the AI gift search actually work?
You add a person — their role, age, hobbies, gifting style, what to avoid — set a budget and occasion, and GiftPilot uses an AI model to suggest curated, personal gift ideas. The more detail you save in their profile, the more on-target the suggestions get over time.
Suggestions are recommendations, not endorsements. Always check current product details, prices, and availability before buying.
What's the difference between Free and GiftPilot Pro?
Free: a few people on your list and a limited number of AI searches so you can try the experience.
Pro unlocks:

- Full budget plan visibility

How does the 7-day free trial work?
The trial is available on the annual plan for first-time subscribers. You get full Pro access for 7 days. If you don't cancel before day 7, your Apple ID is charged $39.99 (or local equivalent) for the year. Cancel anytime during the trial in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions and you won't be charged.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open the iPhone Settings app → tap your name at the top → tap Subscriptions → tap GiftPilot → tap Cancel Subscription. You'll keep Pro access until the end of your current paid period.
Cancelling here is the only way Apple lets us stop the renewal — there's no separate cancel button inside the app.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and request a refund for the GiftPilot purchase. If you're in a region with statutory cancellation rights (EU/EEA, UK), email us at support@giftpilotapp.com and we'll help.
I subscribed on one device — will it work on my other iPhone or iPad?
Yes. As long as you're signed in with the same Apple ID, your subscription unlocks Pro on any of your devices. If it doesn't appear, open the app, go to settings, and tap Restore purchases.
How do I sync birthdays with my Apple Calendar?
Open GiftPilot → settings → Calendar sync → grant calendar access. We create a dedicated "GiftPilot" calendar and add the birthdays and anniversaries from your people list. Edits in GiftPilot keep the calendar in sync.
How do home-screen widgets work?
Long-press your iPhone home screen → tap the + in the top corner → search for GiftPilot → choose the Birthday countdown or Gift list widget and add it. Widgets refresh automatically — no setup required.
Is my data private?
Yes. We don't sell your data, we don't show third-party ads in the app, and we collect the minimum we need to run the service. AI providers process the inputs needed to generate ideas and are contractually prohibited from training on your prompts. Read the full details in our Privacy Policy.
How do I share a wishlist or run a group gift?
Open a wishlist → tap the share icon → copy the link or send it directly. Anyone with the link can view it. For collaborative group gifts, create a shared list, invite the people contributing, and items can be claimed so nothing's bought twice.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile and the data attached to it within 30 days. You can also email support@giftpilotapp.com if you'd rather we handle it.
What devices does GiftPilot work on?
GiftPilot is an iOS app — it runs on iPhone with iOS 16 or later. There's no Android or web app today. If a Mac or iPad version would matter to you, let us know.
The app crashed / something looks broken — what should I do?
First try closing and reopening the app, then make sure you're on the latest version from the App Store. If the issue continues, email support@giftpilotapp.com with your iPhone model, iOS version, and a quick description of what happened — a screenshot helps a lot.
