1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and GiftPilot ("we", "us") and govern your use of the GiftPilot iOS application and the website at giftpilotapp.com (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, downloading the app, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
2. Your account
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to use GiftPilot. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe and for activity under your account. Notify us at support@giftpilotapp.com right away if you suspect unauthorised use.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for anything illegal, harmful, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Upload content about minors or other people that violates their privacy or applicable law.
- Attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service or its underlying AI providers.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or AI-generated outputs in bulk.
- Use the Service to generate content that is hateful, harassing, sexual, or otherwise prohibited by our AI providers.
4. Subscriptions & billing (GiftPilot Pro)
GiftPilot offers a free tier with limited AI searches and a small number of people, and a paid "GiftPilot Pro" subscription that unlocks unlimited AI gift ideas, unlimited people, smart reminders, full budget visibility, and premium themes.

Prices are shown in USD on this page; the price you see in the App Store will be in your local currency at the rate set by Apple, which may differ. Pricing may change for future renewal periods — when that happens we'll let you know in advance as required by Apple.
Auto-renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Your Apple ID will be charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period.
Managing or cancelling
To manage or cancel, open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then GiftPilot. Cancelling stops future renewals; you continue to enjoy Pro features until the end of the current paid period.
5. Free trial (Annual plan)
The 7-day free trial is available to first-time subscribers of the annual plan only. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your Apple ID is charged $39.99 (or local equivalent) for the first year. You can cancel anytime during the trial in your Apple ID subscription settings — you won't be charged.
6. Refunds
All purchases are made through Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple, not by GiftPilot. To request a refund visit reportaproblem.apple.com. If you reside in a jurisdiction (such as the EU/EEA or UK) that grants statutory withdrawal or cancellation rights, those rights apply in addition to Apple's process — email support@giftpilotapp.com if you need help.
7. AI-generated content
GiftPilot uses AI to suggest gift ideas based on the inputs you provide. AI suggestions are recommendations, not guarantees. Product details, prices, availability, ratings, and safety information change constantly — please verify before purchasing. We do not sell the gifts shown and we are not responsible for the products themselves, the merchants who sell them, or links to third-party websites.
You're responsible for the prompts and recipient details you enter. Do not include sensitive information you wouldn't want processed by an AI provider acting on our behalf (see the Privacy Policy).
8. Intellectual property
GiftPilot, the GiftPilot name and logo, the app's design, and the Service itself are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes in line with these Terms and Apple's standard EULA.
You retain ownership of the content you put into the app (people, ideas, lists). You grant us a limited licence to host, process, and display that content solely to provide the Service to you.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI suggestions will be accurate or appropriate for every situation.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GiftPilot will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangibles. Our total liability arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) US$50. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from inside the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that harms us or other users. Sections that by nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, governing law) will survive.
12. Apple App Store terms
You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and GiftPilot, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), the EULA controls only with respect to the matters it covers. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms with the right to enforce them against you.
13. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, except where applicable consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction grants you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email and the "Last updated" date above will change. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
